Let guests serve themselves with a pitcher of this simple, make-ahead cocktail. For a holiday twist, garnish with fresh cranberries and orange slices. Try using a fruity Spanish rioja for the most traditional taste.
- 1/4 Cup Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Water
- 4 Oranges (Scrubbed/Divided)
- 2 Bottles Dry Red Wine
- 1 Cup Brandy
- 1 Cup Triple Sec
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 2 Apples (Cored/Diced)
- Ice (For Serving)
- In small-size saucepot, combine sugar and 1/4 cup water. Heat until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool completely. Add to large-size pitcher.
- Slice 2 oranges and add to pitcher. Squeeze juice from remaining 2 oranges into pitcher.
- Add red wine, brandy, triple sec, cinnamon sticks, and apples to pitcher.
- Place in refrigerator and chill until cold.
- Serve over ice.
